Nintendo has revealed a new trailer for the highly-anticipated Wii U title “Mario Kart 8!” The new video shows off some new features for the game as well as new stages and upgrades. In addition to the familiar banana peels and blue shells as your weapon of choice, “Mario Kart 8” will feature two new items. A chomping Piranha Plant and a Boomerang Flower!

The Piranha Plant attaches itself to the front of the players kart and will reach out to chomp anything in its path. When the plant does take a bite it offers players a speed boost. Meanwhile the Boomerang Flower can be thrown forward or backward a total of three times. The boomerang stuns the player it hits and has the ability to hit multiple players.

Additionally, Race courses from previous “Mario Kart” games have also been updated for “Mario Kart 8,” including “Mario Kart Wii's” Moo Moo Meadows and “Mario Kart 64's” Toad's Turnpike. In total, the game will have 16 new courses and 16 updated classic courses.

For the first time, "Mario Kart 8" introduces original track designs that highlight the titles new anti-gravity feature, which allows gamers to race upside down or up vertical surfaces. Racers will also enjoy a variety of series-favorite features, including the return of 12-player online competitive play, four-player local multiplayer, hang gliders, underwater racing and motorbikes.

"Mario Kart 8" will launch on May 30 for Wii U.Check out the stages in the latest trailer below!
