"Mario Kart 8" is by far the best game on Wii U and we're learning that it is about to get much better! According to the latest announcement by Nintendo, a big "Mario Kart 8" DLC is in the works. The new DLC will feature new characters, new vehicles, and new circuits as well. The most significant addition, in our opinion, is Link from "The Legend of Zelda" as the all-new playable character.
In total, the new "Mario Kart 8" DLC will feature three new characters, including Link, Tanooki Mario, and Cat Peach. In addition, there will be four new vehicles including F-Zero's Blue Falcon. Last but not least, the latest DLC will also deliver eight new courses, including Wario's Gold Mine from "Mario Kart Wii" as well as an "F-Zero" themed course.
So does that conclude our "Mario Kart 8" report? Nope, there's more: Nintendo is actually introducing not one, but two DLC's! The second DLC will also introduce three new characters. This time, Mario Kart 8 will invite Villager and Isabelle from "Animal Crossing," and Dry Bowser to join the party. Once again, the second DLC will also feature four new vehicles and eight new tracks for Wii U.
At the risk of sounding like the late TV salesman Billie Mays, I need to tell you: "But wait, there's more!" According to Nintendo, players that purchase both DLC packages will get even more additional content.
"As a bonus for purchasing both packs - as a bundle or separately - you can get eight different-coloured Yoshis and eight different-coloured Shy Guys that can be used right away," says Nintendo. Reskins may not sound like much until you consider that is is an additional 16 character variations.
The first "Mario Kart 8" DLC release date will be scheduled for November 2014. The second DLC is scheduled for May 2015. According to reports, the new DLC packs will be priced at £7.00 in the UK.
