Marilyn Manson will appear in court in Los Angeles on an active arrest warrant stemming from an alleged assault in Gilford, New Hampshire in 2019.

Gilford police chief Anthony Bean Burpee said per WMUR-9 that Manson had reached a deal with New Hampshire officials and Manson's attorney, Howard King, to turn himself in. However, it is unknown when this will happen.

Manson, 52, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault after allegedly striking a filmmaker after a concert at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in August 2019. The performer may face a jail sentence and a fine of up to $2,000 if convicted.

Manson could be arraigned on the accusations later this summer in New Hampshire's Laconia District Court, according to the newspaper.

In a statement to USA TODAY, Burpee said his department's prosecutor will transmit the warrant to an LAPD investigator, who will set up a precise date and time for Manson to surrender.

"We have been in a holding pattern," Burpee said in a statement. "We are simply looking for Mr. Warner to turn himself in on the active warrant so that we can proceed."

Although Manson is likely to be arrested and processed by the LAPD, police believe he will be given a court date in New Hampshire.

"If Mr. Warner turns himself in within the next few weeks, his initial appearance/arraignment will likely be scheduled for mid-August," Burpee said.

On Aug. 18, 2019, Manson was allegedly assaulted while performing at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, a local outdoor amphitheater, according to law enforcement. Authorities said the alleged assaults were not sexual in nature and involved a videographer in the stage pit who was hired to capture the show.

In a May statement to USA TODAY, Manson's lawyer Howard King described the Gilford Police Department's assertion as "ludicrous." But he added that he and his client "are committed to collaborating with authorities, as we have done throughout."

Evan Rachel Wood listed Manson, whom she met when she was 18 and was briefly engaged to, as her alleged abuser in February of this year, calling him a “dangerous man.”

“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail,” the actress wrote in her Instagram account.

Four more women came forward to say they had been abused. In a statement uploaded to his social media account at the time, Manson refuted the charges.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department initiated an inquiry. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Manson's record company, Loma Vista Recordings, and Starz's American Gods, in which he had a regular role, dropped him. He was also fired from CAA, the agency that represented him.
