With endless hits, multiple awards and over 12 million albums sold worldwide, Marc Anthony has become the top selling tropical salsa artist of all time. Despite being one of the most powerful men in the industry, Anthony revealed his biggest regret for following his professional dream.
"The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time," he told Tracy Smith in an interview for CBS' "Sunday Morning." "What I would have done to have been a stay-at-home dad, and, you know, witnessed every second of everything," he added. The "Vivir Mi Vida" singer is a father of five, including twins Max and Emme with former wife, singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez. "I would have loved that. Didn't work out that way. So it's the one thing that just tugs at me ... that's the biggest sacrifice. And you sort of start to wonder, was it all worth it? Was it worth it?"
In the exclusive interview with CBS, expected to air 9 a.m. ET on May 1, the salsa singer also discussed about growing up in a brood of eight children. "To my mom, I was a pain in the ass. To my dad, I was the light of his eyes. And to me, I was awkward," he said. "I had glasses. I weighed two pounds. My dad always told me, and as God's honest truth, 'Son, we're ugly. Work on your personality.'" According to CBS, Anthony also talked about his "former marriage to J.Lo and his decision to speak out against Donald Trump during a performance at Madison Square Garden."
Currently, Anthony is making the rounds with his entertainment company Magnus Media, which launched in 2015. “I’ve always said the concept of Magnus was born out of f---ing frustration. Some of the biggest influencers on the planet are Latino artists and athletes,” said Anthony in an interview with Billboard.
The company has signed sponsorship and co-management deals with many talents such as Alejandro Sanz, Gente De Zona and Chino & Nacho. Just eight months after launching the company, Anthony announced Magnus Sports, which boasts over 60 baseball players, headlined byAroldis Chapman and Jorge Soler.
