Marc Anthony has had it with President Nicolás Maduro. The Puerto Rican singer, who is married to Venezuelan bombshell Shannon De Lima, expressed his anger towards the President’s lack of action during these times of crisis.
“Until when Maduro?” Anthony wrote on Twitter. “Can’t you see? Venezuela said enough!”
The “Vivir Mi Vida” performer recently joined forces with Alejandro Sanz and Carlos Baute to raise awareness about the country’s devastating situation through a non-profit organization called “Comparte Por Una Vida.”
“In Venezuela it is very hard to get formula,” reads the organization’s official website. “Hospitals can no longer provide the supplies needed to feed children that can’t be breastfed anymore.”
Sanz, who is currently a coach on “La Voz México,” has been very vocal about the situation in Venezuela, including the political prisoners subject.
“It is very clear that there is no democracy in Venezuela,” he said in an interview with Peruvian TV show “Domingo Al Día.”
A few days ago, a little girl’s video went viral for sending President Maduro a powerful message about the terrible life conditions she has to face on a daily basis.
“I’m tired of the situation,” the girl started. “I don’t have water. I don’t have food. I don’t have medicine,” the little girl continued before taking her hat off and letting her messy hair burst out, “and lastly, I don’t have shampoo!”
On Thursday, the Venezuelan government announced a new plan to tackle the country’s severe shortage in food and medicines.
BBC reports the new system will distribute food “house by house” to thousands of families who will be expected to register for the system. They will receive bags containing various basic products including maize flour, pasta, rice and oil.
Nothing has been said about providing formula to newborns in hospitals yet.
