Marc Anthony, Shannon De Lima Divorce: Estranged Couple Confirms Split After Two-Year Marriage

This year has been an interesting one within Hollywood as many couples didn't make it and other couples deciding to take the next step in their relationship. While many people have been speculating that Latin sensation Marc Anthony and his gorgeous wife Shannon De Lima's marriage was at the end of the rope, the duo hasn't spoken out about the relationship until now.

According to E! News, Anthony and De Lima are officially getting a divorce. After news spread a month ago of the couple calling their relationship quits, divorce proceedings have officially begun for the estranged couple.

"After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage," the two said in a statement to E! News. "We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter."

Many of us believed that the couple wouldn't make it into the new year after the surprising twist at the Latin GRAMMYs. Anthony who performed with his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez brought the house down after he accepted an award that night and sealed the deal with a shocking liplock with his former beau.

While Anthony denied the kiss being nothing more than a friendly liplock, it didn't take long for other news to surface. We recently reported that Anthony has never truly gotten over the Puerto Rican songstress and upon finding out about her breaking ties with ex-boyfriend Casper Smart, he was ready to make his move.

Although we reported that J.Lo has no intentions of reconnecting with Anthony, the damage was already done to his marriage.

The site reports that Anthony's father Felipe Muñiz referenced his marriage in an interview with Telemundo Puerto Rico's Dando Candela at his son's concert earlier this month.

"He's going through tough times right now, but he knows how to accept what comes out of this," Anthony's father said. "He has a lot of experience in separations."

The couple is ending the relationship with no children together. De Lima has a 9-year-old from a previous relationship. Anthony shares two sons with ex-wife Puerto Rican actress Dayanara Torres and a twin daughter and son with J.Lo.
