It's hard to imagine going back to school later on in life, let alone at the age of 100. But that's exactly what one woman in Mexico did to fulfill her dream of getting an education.

Manuela Hernandez, born in June 1913 in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, went back to school at the age of 99 upon the recommendation of one of her grandchildren. She has revealed that she left her pursuit of primary school education after one year to help her family with household chores. But now, 90 years later, Manuela Hernandez has her diploma in hand.

"I liked school very much, but I could not continue studying," she told Uno TV. "By the next year I could already wash and iron."

If you think Manuela Hernandez will close her books now, think again! She has revealed that she will continue her education and go to secondary school.

Manuela Hernandez's accomplishment is even more astounding when you consider that more than of Oaxaca's state residents 15 and older have not completed their primary education.
