Mexican actor and comedian Manuel "El Loco" Valdés, confirmed that he has a malignant tumor on his forehead and will undergo surgery to remove it.
"My health has been very good throughout my life and I thank God, but some time ago I found a little pimple on my forehead but I didn't pay much attention to it. I even made a song about it. Eventually I went to the dermatologist and got a biopsy done," Valdés said during a press conference.
"Everything went well, the doctor sent the biopsy to get tested and it turned out to be malignant, that's when I invented this song: 'I have a tumor in my forehead, I have a malignant tumor, here in my forehead, but I’m not scared, I am very brave," the comedian sang in front of reporters.
Cristian Castro's father said oncologist Javier Kelly will be operating to remove "everything." "All the bad things need to go, so I need a skin graft, from my leg or my butt cheeks, but I told them not from the butt cheeks because then that skin is going to be too wrinkly," Valdés joked.
One of the reporters present at the press conference asked "El Loco" Valdés if he had cancer, to which he replied, "Well, if you want, then my pleasure. I also made up another song about it, one that César Costa used to sing," and he immediately started singing skin cancer.
Daniel Gómez Casanova, a producer and friend of Valdés' stated that "it is encapsulated and will be removed," and fortunately the extirpation will not require hospitalization. Valdés later clarified that the specialist never specified that it is cancer, and he has not been told about chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
This April 5, Manuel "El Loco" Valdés will travel to Monterrey, Nuevo León, to fulfill the staging "Airplanes".
