With one-year remaining on his contract, ESPN reports that Manchester City wants to get as much money as possible for the goal-scorer rather than risk losing him and getting nothing in return when Tevez's deal expires next summer.
In 4 seasons with Manchester City, the 29-year-old recorded 58 goals in 107 appearances, guiding Man City to the 2011-2012 Premier League title. Tevez will depart a City club with superstar talent in Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Brazilian star Fernandinho and Spanish midfielder David Silva. Now headed to Serie A affiliate Juventus, the star striker should have no problem fitting in with the defending Italian champions.
Fellow striker Sebastian Giovinco recorded 7 goals in 31 matches last season while veteran and Italian national superstar Andrea Pirlo has been tremendous along the Juventus midfield line. Recording 8 goals in 69 appearances with the defending league champions, Pirlo continues to play at a high level even at the age of 34. Adding an electric player like Carlos Tevez will only help the club continue their high level of play.
A deal that could be worth up to £27m, the transfer seems to be beneficial for both sides since Manchester City will save on significant wages while certain bonuses will be included for the player. In breaking down the financial aspects of the move, ESPNFC's Gab Marcotti notes that even though Tevez is taking a pay cut, he's receiving a contract extension by joining Juventus.

"You're talking about €9 million going to City straight away, plus another €3 million - €1 million per season over the next three seasons, provided Juventus qualifies for the Champions League," Marcotti reported on ESPN Press Pass.
"From Tevez's perspective, he had a year left on his deal, he's getting another two years, but he will have to take a pay cut. He is going to go down from roughly £10 million-a-year to something in the vicinity of £7.5 million. From City's perspective, they wanted to claw back some money and get Tevez's hefty wages off the wage bill."

A strong international player as well, the Ciudadela, Argentina native has notched 13 goals in 62 appearances with the Argentine national team although he hasn't been called up to the team since 2011.
Turning his attention to the Italian League and his new home with Juventus, Tevez will now become part of a club with a winning pedigree and some great individual talent as well.
