Manchester United's striker Cristiano Ronaldo's private jet reportedly flew from Lisbon to Madrid following reports of his desire to exit from Old Trafford. However, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's future in United still remains uncertain.
Ronaldo has not attended Red Devils training for two days and was instead staying at a Lisbon hotel. However, according to Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepúlveda, Ronaldo's private plane arrived in Lisbon and took off just within minutes on July 6. The plane is said to have landed in Madrid.
Man Utd are in pursuit of several players for this summer transfer window looking to close several deals to prepare for Erik Ten Hag's strategic plan. United are hoping to bring a second player to the club, targeting Ajax forward Antony, with reports claiming that the Red Devils have officially made the bid. As of now, United have made just one signing, bringing Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord to the team.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo's future with the team remains unsolved, but Bayern Munich have officially revealed they will not be signing the 37-year-old forward. According to club CEO Oliver Khan, "Although I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo and consider him one of the greatest players, such an operation would not be suitable for our philosophy."
Ronaldo, who earns around £500,000 ($600,000) a week, told United of his plan to leave Old Trafford due to his desire for the Champions League. The Portuguese footballer made a dramatic return to United in 2021 after playing with Juventus. Despite still having another year with United as per his contract, Ronaldo is reportedly convinced the team cannot compete for titles next season.
The footballer garnered a lot of interest from many high-profile teams, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona. Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, is said to be in talks with some potential teams. Mendes is known to be finding a solution for Ronaldo's aim to transfer as he is reportedly unwilling to take a significant pay cut. Chelsea are said to be showing a lot of interest. With Ronaldo not yet returning to United's pre-season training, Chelsea may be able to get a deal over the line. Paris Saint-Germain also reportedly want Ronaldo on the team.
