In related news, a young man from Derbyshire in the United Kingdom was found guilty of murdering another man over an argument about alcohol. Convicted of murder was Mateusz Maciejewski who is being charged with the killing of Karl Taylor.
Per records, Maciejewski stabbed Taylor twice as both were embroiled in an argument last Dec. 8, 2019. He stood trial alongside three other men- Gursimran Mann, Sahib Mann, and Callum McConnell.
It appears the problem stemmed after Taylor ended up arguing with the Mann brothers over alcohol that was allegedly stolen from a store owned by the siblings. The brothers with two other men went to Taylor’s home and confronted him about the stolen booze.
But as the victim opened the door, he was stabbed multiple times by Maciejewski and left bloodied as well as with serious injuries. The four suspects fled the scene. Taylor was rushed to a nearby medical facility but expired not long after.
Maciejewski claims that it was an act of self-defense and claimed that it was Taylor who was armed. His companions were found not guilty by the court.
"Karl Taylor has been portrayed in this case as a violent and angry man, and whilst his family accept that he has not always shown patience or made the best decisions in his past, he was a loving father; grandfather; son; and partner to Lisa," Detective Chief Inspector Sally Blaiklock said after the decision on Maciejewski was handed out.
