A man has been accused of brutally strangling his wife to death with a piece of cloth for not listening to him in Jawahar Nagar, Aurangabad, India over the weekend.
The accused, identified as 29-year-old Balaji Lonikar, has been arrested by the Jawahar Nagar police on charges of murdering his 22-year-old wife Madhura by choking her to death with a length of cloth on Monday afternoon, May 30.
The incident reportedly first came to light after Lonikar panicked and made a phone call to the police over the weekend and informed them that his wife had taken her own life. However, a little while later, Lonikar made a second phone call to the police and claimed that his wife had been murdered, the Times Of India reported.
After the authorities responded to the couple's home, they discovered Madhura's body in a suspicious condition. This led the officers to suspect Lonikar. When the officers further questioned him in detail regarding his wife's death, eventually, Lonikar confessed to killing his wife in a fit of rage by strangling her to death out of frustration, over his wife not listening to him.
The couple reportedly has a four-year-old child together.
