A man has been accused of thrashing his wife to death with a stick after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol in Bemetara, Chhattisgarh, India.
The accused, identified as Bhanu Devangan, had allegedly asked his wife, Santoshi Devangan, to lend him some money to buy a bottle of liquor when their argument turned violent.
After Santoshi refused to give the suspect the money he demanded, Bhanu reportedly felt enraged and erupted into a heated tirade against his wife. During the confrontation, however, Bhanu, in a fit of rage, allegedly picked up a stick and began brutally bludgeoning his wife in the head, the Times Of India reported.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Bhanu was an alcoholic who often quarrelled with his wife. The police officers added that they have registered a case in connection with the incident and are investigating the death.
