Man Stabbed 3-Year-Old During 'Bible Study' To Exorcise 'Demon' Out Of Toddler

A man from Las Vegas, Nevada faces attempted murder charges after he allegedly stabbed a 3-year-old child during a family "bible study" to exorcise a "demon" out of the toddler on Thursday, March 31.

On Thursday, a seemingly anxious Wilson, 28, was seen pacing back and forth in the hallway between their family home's bedroom and the kitchen table, where his 3-year-old niece was sitting eating butter noodles. According to several other family members who were gathered at the house, the pacing went on for about half an hour and stopped only as their regular “bible study” session began. Wilson then walked up behind the young victim “as if to hug her” before allegedly stabbing her repeatedly in the side, Law & Crime reported.

“I need to get the demons out of her. I need to save her,” the suspect reportedly said after stabbing the toddler.

When two male family members moved to disarm him, Wilson got into a physical altercation with them and knifed one of them in the right hand. The man needed “multiple stitches” on his hand and will also need the opinion of a specialist to determine if there is any long-term damage to his tendons.

According to Wilson's family, the suspect previously served time in prison for injuring a lady during a robbery. He had also attacked several family members in the past and was only recently released from a medical facility on March 25, six days before the stabbing. Wilson allegedly left the scene after the attack, leaving the child severely injured.

The assailant reportedly stabbed the victim 11 times, including seven times in the back. The toddler sustained stab wounds to a forearm, hand, triceps, and armpit in the attack. In addition to these injuries, the victim also suffered a punctured right kidney, a lacerated spleen, and a “penetrating wound to her posterior aorta,” Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Following the stabbing, family members immediately rushed the toddler to a hospital for treatment in an “extremely critical” condition. It’s unclear what the 3-year-old’s health condition is as of Monday morning, April 11,

Wilson was arrested by officers within an hour after the stabbing and was charged with attempted murder and battery with the use of a deadly weapon. He currently remains in custody on a $250,000 bail. He is due in court on Thursday, April 14.
