Man Kills 80-Year-Old Mother For Refusing To Give Him Money, Keeps Corpse At Home For A Week

A man has been accused of killing his 80-year-old mother by hitting her on the head with a rod after she refused to give him money. He allegedly proceeded to keep her body in the house for one week in Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab, India.

The incident reportedly came to light after the tenants of the house returned following a vacation at a relative’s place and suspected something wrong as a foul odor was emanating from the residence. Following this, the tenant called the police and alerted them about the smell. The authorities subsequently found the body of the elderly woman Kulwinder Kaur, 80, lying on the floor of the house, the Tribune reported.

After the remains were discovered, law enforcement called the victim’s oldest son, Davinder Singh, who resided nearby. After Davinder was questioned, he told the police that he suspected his younger brother Dalbir Singh to be responsible for his mother's death. He told the officers that Dalbir had recently returned from England and frequently pestered their mother for money.

Following this, the officers launched a search for Dalbir Singh and arrested him. During the interrogation, Dalbir reportedly confessed to bludgeoning his mother to death with a rod after she refused to give him money.

Meanwhile, SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police) Rajbachan Singh Sandhu added that they have launched a further investigation into the incident.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a man allegedly brutally decapitated his own mother out of anger after she refused to give him money to purchase drugs in Kuala Selangor, Malaysia on Jan. 15, Latin Times reported.

The suspect, a 28-year-old unemployed man who lived in the same house with his 56-year-old mother, reportedly killed and beheaded the matriarch out of frustration for not being given money to buy drugs at their home at Kampung Baru Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor on Saturday, Jan. 15.

The incident came to light when the suspect's sister feared something was amiss when she could not contact her mother and went to her home to check on her. After she reached the house, she saw the suspect covered in blood and running into the bushes behind the residence.

Following this, she alerted the police regarding the incident. When the officers responded to the scene, they found the bloodied remains of the 56-year-old woman.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old suspect, who was hiding in the bushes nearby, was later caught with the help of other villagers.

The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine after he was arrested. Officers believe that the suspect committed the horrendous crime under the influence of drugs.
