A man reportedly killed a stranger for pushing him while he was coming out of a liquor shop in Kurla, Maharashtra, India on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
On Wednesday, while the accused, Rajesh Waghmare, was coming out of a liquor shop located in SG Barve Road in the eastern suburb of Kurla in Maharashtra, India, the 23-year-old victim, Rajesh Bhalotiya, allegedly shoved the suspect and pushed him aside.
The accused, who felt enraged after he was pushed, reportedly proceeded to attack Bhalotiya in a fit of rage. The assailant managed to knock down the victim and began banging his head against the road. The victim suffered grievous injuries in the attack, the Times Of India reported.
The liquor store owner who witnessed the melee immediately alerted the police. Bhalotiya was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the doctors at the facility later declared him dead.
Following the victim's death, Waghmare was nabbed and a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against him.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a man, identified as P Thangaraj, alias "Thangam," 20, allegedly murdered 65-year-old I Nagapathiram with a machete after a heated argument ensued between the two following the victim's refusal to let the assailant borrow his phone to make an important call in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India, Latin Times reported.
While Nagapathiram went out to look for his cows, Thangam reportedly approached him and demanded he hand over his mobile phone. However, when Nagapathiram refused to relinquish his cell phone, Thangam reportedly got angry and an altercation quickly escalated between the two.
During the argument, in a fit of rage, Thangam allegedly attacked Nagapathiram with a machete and killed him. After murdering the elderly victim, Thangam took Nagapathiram's mobile phone and made the call.
Nagapathiram's body was reportedly discovered lying at Odai Palam on the Natathi - Meenatchipatti Road, Tamil Nadu on Jan. 9.
After the authorities launched an investigation into the incident, cops spotted Thangam loitering around the crime scene and took him in for questioning, during which he confessed to the murder and narrated the ordeal.
Following this, the officers registered a case of murder against Thangam and took him into custody.
