A man was allegedly killed by two of his friends for passing sarcastic comments while they were drinking together in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The 35-year-old victim Vivek Tyagi, a resident of Mohammad Pur Kadeem village in Modinagar, reportedly went missing on Feb. 2 after a night hanging out with some pals. Following reports of his disappearance, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under section 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and launched an investigation into the incident, the Times Of India reported.
After almost a month-long investigation, the officers finally received a tip-off regarding the identity of the suspects. The authorities subsequently intercepted one of the accused's cars and nabbed the two suspects, Ritu Tyagi and Mohit Tyagi, for the alleged murder.
After the police interrogated the suspect, they admitted to the officers that they got into a heated argument with Tyagi after he made sarcastic remarks about them during a booze session in early February. The two accused, after being offended by his snide remarks, smacked the victim in the head while under the influence of alcohol and, in a fit of rage, killed him on the spot, Times Now reported.
