Man Demands Death Sentence For Own Parents After They Axed His Wife To Death, Chopped Her Head Off

A man from Uttar Pradesh, India has reportedly pleaded to the police to slap a death sentence on his parents for allegedly axing his wife to death and then decapitating her body in a gruesome premeditated murder.

Thirty-one-year-old Narendra Verma, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri from Uttar Pradesh, has accused his parents of murdering his wife Arundhati Verma with the help of other relatives because they wanted him to marry another woman. Verma has made a zealous plea to the police and demanded that his parents "should be hanged to death for their monstrous and despicable act," Outlook reported.

Verma reportedly married Arundhati in May 2013 against his parents' interests. Since their marriage, Verma's parents have expressed their disinterest towards Arundhati as they wanted their son to marry another woman.

“I left the village with my wife and stayed in different cities like Delhi and Lucknow depending on my work. Since I had very minimal interaction with my parents, the differences never escalated. But they always expressed their vengeance against my wife whenever they got the opportunity,” Verma said.

However, in March this year, when the second wave of COVID-19 hit the country, Verma moved back to his village and opted to work from home. At his childhood residence, Verma sensed his parents' extreme hatred towards his wife and alleged that they were looking for an opportunity to find Arundhati alone so that they could kill her.

On July 10, when Verma went for a morning walk, his neighbor immediately informed his father who had already left for his work. Verma's father soon returned home and sent Verma's mother to pick a fight with Arundhati.

During the argument, Verma's father allegedly struck Arundhati in the neck with a sharp axe. Following this, Verma's brother reportedly attacked her with a chopper. Arundhati died on the spot and the autopsy reports confirmed that she had been murdered in the most heinous manner, according to Urban Press.

A First Information Report (FIR) was subsequently filed and the parents were arrested for the murder. Verma said that even though the attack was planned by his parents, the police seem to be of the view that the killing occurred as an act of sudden provocation due to an argument between his wife and parents.

“They were very well aware that if they commit this evil act under the garb of sudden provocation, they will get away with only a few years in jail. But that’s not the case. It is a pre-planned murder in a most horrific manner,” Verma said.

Verma has pleaded to the police to make a case of capital punishment for his parents and reportedly told them that "they should be hanged to death for their monstrous and despicable act."
