Man Beat Wife To Death For Not Preparing Food To His Liking

Police in Niger arrested 20-year-old Danladi Lawali for the murder of his wife, Zulai Lawali. The woman's death reportedly occurred due to a misunderstanding over the preparation of a dish. Police had to hunt down the accused as he went on the run following the woman's death. He will face trial as the investigation into the woman's death continues.

Police launched a manhunt after Danladi, suspected of causing his wife's death, went missing. The suspect reportedly beat the woman causing her death.

According to Channels, the manhunt ended on March 26 around 9:00 a.m. when the police officers of the Kagara Division arrested the accused. Following the arrest of the man on Friday he was interrogated on Wednesday, March 31, the New Telegraph reported.

During the interrogation details of the incident became clear. Danladi told investigators that he had an argument with his wife over the preparation of pap. Pap is a kind of starchy dish made from maize flour. Angered by his wife he started beating her. Investigators were told that the beating of the defenseless woman continued till she became unconscious.

Danladi confessed that he stopped beating his wife only after she became unconscious. The resident of Kadaura village via Yakila Gunna district was taken to General Hospital Wushishi. Zulai was initially in a coma. She was eventually pronounced dead. It is believed she succumbed to the injuries she sustained during the beating.

During the interrogation, the accused said that he had not intended on killing his wife. He claims that he regrets that the misunderstanding led to her death. He also told the police that he absconded as he was scared for his life. After Zulai's death, Danladi was scared that a mob would kill him.

The charges against him have not been revealed by the police. Danladi will be taken to court for causing his wife's death.

Another murderous husband who took his wife's life is Muhammad Meddie Magezi from Uganda. After getting caught having an affair with his daughter-in-law, the man killed his wife and 5-year-old son. He then tried to cover up the murders by setting their apartment on fire. He has been charged with murder and arson.
