A man reportedly beat up his former partner for saying that his ex-boyfriend was better looking. The suspect felt that it meant that he was not better looking than the Portuguese football star.
The man was identified as a certain Ross Flynn who allegedly attacked his then-partner whose identity was not revealed, the Newcastle Crown Court heard.
Before the assault, the couple was allegedly chatting and watching a video football video in June 2021.
Out of nowhere, Flynn asked the woman who she thought was more attractive between her ex-boyfriend or Ronaldo. When the woman said her former was better looking, Flynn allegedly slapped and punched her in the face.
The assault forced the woman to retreat to the bedroom but the 31-year-old continues to pound on her. "She felt three or four extremely hard punches to the back of the head causing immediate pain,” the prosecution stated. "The defendant said 'Shut the f*** up and get to sleep or you know what will happen'."
The woman would later report the incident to the police and narrate the whole ordeal.
As a result of his actions, Flynn has been branded as a very high-risk to any future partners who may have, the Sunderland Echo reported.
It was also learned that this was not the first time that Flynn got into a physical altercation with the woman.
A little over a month after that June incident, Flynn allegedly kicked her to her face, connecting with her jaw and nose which burst pouring with blood during another argument.
The woman ended up with a broken nose and a deviated septum aside from the bruises, cuts and swelling originating from the attacks. In another instance, Flynn also allegedly smashed the woman’s mobile phone.
Flynn admitted to the charges and was sentenced to four years in jail with an additional year on license.
"The violence became more regular and worse. You have been identified as a very high risk to any female you have an intimate relationship with," Judge Sarah Mallet stated.
