A Nova Scotia man has been arrested and charged with various child porn-related offenses after border agents seized a child sex doll that was shipped in from Japan and allegedly addressed to him earlier this month.

On Tuesday, Canada Border Services Agency officers in Hamilton, Ontario, revealed that they had seized a child sex doll that was shipped into the country from Japan, as reported by CTV News Atlantic. The doll, which arrived via international courier shipments, was reportedly addressed to a man living in Digby, Nova Scotia.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police conducted a search warrant Oct. 17 of the man's home, identified as 43-year-old Joseph Ryan Jolicoeur. Officers were allegedly able to locate additional child sex dolls, as well as "other evidence supporting both child pornography and smuggling charges," according to CTV News.

Jolicoeur was arrested for possession of child pornography, importation of child pornography and smuggling child pornography into Canada.

"Child pornography is most commonly known and understood as sexual images or videos of children," Const. Mandy Edwards of the RCMP Provincial ICE Unit in a statement. "However, child pornography can also be written, or in audio forms, or as in this case, a visual representation such as a child sex doll. Child pornography in all its forms is considered harmful and is prohibited by the Criminal Code."

Jolicoeur is set to appear in court on Jan. 6.
