Luis Miguel, better known as “El Sol de México,” is not shining so bright nowadays. The Mexican singer hasn’t been able to make a comeback with new or original songs, and his recent weight gain is not helping him either. Earlier this year, the singer began his new tour Déjà Vu, which was reported to be a major flop in his career and rumors about a possible retirement started sparking up.
Well, it looks like “El Sol” is not willing to go down without a fight. Despite the constant criticism that he has been receiving from the media and some of his colleagues, it was reported that he is ready to bring back his act to Las Vegas this September. But the biggest news is perhaps his recent duet with Juan Gabriel, which hopefully will open up the road to success for Luis Miguel again.
“El Divo de Juárez” representatives confirmed the reunion between the two Mexican legends at Amor Eterno studios, located in JuanGa’s mansion in Cancun, Mexico. The information released stated that the singers recorded 6 songs together but only one of them will be included in Juan Gabriel’s album “Los Dúo.” They also wanted to communicate the press that Luis Miguel was going to be the only artist to get paid for his participation on the album.
They later clarified that the money wasn’t going to Luis Miguel but to Warner Music, with whom the singer has a contract with and he needed them to authorize his collaboration with a different music label.
Rumor has it “El Sol” is hoping for this collaboration to be the push his career needs to take him back to the top.
