Lucero is in the spotlight once again after some personal photos of the Mexican actress and singer were published by a Tabloid. The pictures caused a lot of controversy because they show her hunting animals in the wild with her boyfriend. Social media has gone crazy, and the actress is now facing major backlash in most aspects of her professional life, losing support from a lot of fans, and supposedly losing her gig in the Viña del Mar music festival in Chile. Pantene was reportedly removing all the ads featuring Lucero, which made people believe she was being dropped as their spokeswoman.
But a spokesperson for Procter & Gamble, has come forward, dismissing the claims Lucero was let go because of the recent hunting scandal, and clearing things up. “We are aware of all the publications in some of the media and we try to stay informed on the subject, however, the withdrawal of advertising with the image of Lucero, which began January 1, 2014, has no connection with the event commented on the media, instead, it was a previously scheduled activity because the agreement between Pantene and Lucero ended December 31, 2013.”
Procter & Gamble first hired Lucero in 2008, when she became the face of Olay in Latin America. Thanks to the acceptance and likeness of the performer, she was rehired again, but this time around flaunting her gorgeous hair in the Pantene ads from 2011 to 2013. What do you think? Is Procter & Gamble trying to cover up for her or did they actually remove the ads because of the recent scandal? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
