The first trailer for a biopic of Linda Lovelace, the notorious 1970s porn star who will forever be remembered as "Deep Throat," has been released.
Amanda Seyfried plays the porn sensation, from her humble beginnings to her glamorous life as the star of "Deep Throat," and ending with her activist days when she spoke out against the industry that made her famous.
Seyfried appears in a revealing maroon monokini and a curly brunette wig, reminiscent of the outfit worn by Lovelace on the 1972 porno's original movie poster. She is also pictured in a polka dot dress and other outfits reflecting the style of the era.
To prepare for her racy role, Amanda reportedly read Lovelace's books and studied videos of the porn star. The "Mamma Mia" star also revealed that she watched "Deep Throat" to get a sense of what she was getting herself into.
"What surprised me was the amount of pubic hair!" The actress told Glamour magazine in an interview last year.
But sex isn't only what the movie is about. Linda Lovelace was a woman who was a victim of extreme abuse, both on camera and at the hands of her husband, Chuck Traynor and according to critics that have already seen the movie, Seyfriend channels every emotion to perfection.
Among the star-studded cast, Peter Sarsgaard plays Chuck Traynor, Lovelace's husband and abuser, Adam Brody as Harry Reems, Lovelace's costar in "Deep Throat," James Franco as Hugh Hefner, Sharon Stone as Seyfried's mother, Hank Azaria as the director of the adult film, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Debi Mazar, and Chloe Sevigny.
"Lovelace," which premiered at Sundance in January, was quickly scooped up by a distributor and it's scheduled to premiere this August.
