Lisa Kudrow got pulled in by one of the many rumors that there will be a "Friends" TV reunion show, and she was even worried that they hadn't asked her to join the reunion, until she figured out it was a hoax.
Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay on "Friends" for 10 seasons, told Conan O'Brien that she fell for a reunion hoax that was surprisingly convincing. "First of all, the graphic for this one thing was unbelievable. It looked really real," the hilarious actress said. "And then they were posting this article and the headline was like, 'NBC Confirms 5 out of 6 of the Friends Are In,' and I went, 'Oh my God. They didn't ask me," Kudrow recalled.
She ultimately realized that "Friends" was a Warner Bros. show and figured out the report was fake, but she said the news excited fans who were very upset when she cleared up the reports. "I honestly just feel really bad just by saying. 'And that was actually never something that was ever going to happen,'" Kudrow said.
"You're disappointing them. And people got mad at me recently because I said, 'No, no. That's never going to happen.' They were angry, like I'm the one who shut it down," the actress explained.
In April, "Friends" co-creator Marta Kaufman told E! Online a reunion is "not happening." Kaufman also said there also will not be a movie reunion either.
"'Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore," she said.
Oddly enough, Kauffman said she learned of the new rumor when she overheard some people at a bar talking about it.
"Friends" was listed by Time magazine as one of the Top 100 Television Shows, and it aired from 1994 to 2004.
