Before Queen Bey took the stages by storm, there was a Queen Bee born and raised in Brooklyn. Her last mega controversy was back in 1999 at the VMAs and her spirit was revived by a twerking princess back in Halloween. Yes, we’re talking about Lil’ Kim. Although she has kept working ever since, nothing compared to her scantily clad appearance at the MTV famous award show back when everyone thought the world was going to end in 9/9/99, or maybe 2000 if nothing happened on that September day.
Nothing compared to that “scandal” until now. Turns out, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Rap” arrived at the New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, Feb. 12, looking very pregnant. She sat down on front row and enjoyed the The Blonds’ show, only to announce at the after-party that she was, in fact, expecting her first child. “I’m a mom, but I can turn it up a little!” the rapper said while she was performing her hit “Lighters Up” at the party and caressing her baby bump.
She later spoke to E! News, adding, "My little boo boo is coming! My little baby boo, my sunshine!" And also told Us Weekly, "I'm so excited! I'm a few months along. I can't wait to be a mom!" And if you thought Lil’ Kim was going to slow down, you were wrong because this Brooklyn girl said, "I'm still going to work, I'm still going to be hardcore—the baby has made me even more of a beast!"
Now, most of you might be wondering who the father is. And although Lil’ Kim has chosen to keep that a secret, MTV has a few clues. Apparently Kim was said to be dating rapper Mr. Papers for some time and his Twitter timeline is filled with retweets congratulatory messages from fans. He also tweeted “I heard everybody looking for me ?????????????????” and retweeted an Instagram post from his friend featuring a collage of moments shared by Papers and Kim with the caption “Heard All LiL Kim Fans are Looking For My Dawg @Mr_Papers LoL Congratz Homie!!!”
