Not to be confused with Lexus F, the specialized line of performance cars in the Lexus range including the LFA and IS-F, the Lexus F Sport is only a trim package that provides mild visual enhancements and light performance upgrades.

Offered for the Lexus IS, GS, and CT cars as well as the RX crossover, Lexus will eventually allow the F Sport package to make its way across the majority of the model line-up. Next in line to receive some stylish flair is the flagship LS luxury sedan, which Lexus confirmed the unveiling will be held on July 30th.

More importantly, the unveiling will provide the industry with the very first look of the new "spindle-grille" LS sedan. Details are limited so far but we expect the new LS F Sport sedan to offer an aggressive body treatment, larger set of alloy wheels wrapped in sticky tires, upgraded brakes, as well as a retuned suspension system. Engine output will most likely remain the same but a minor update isn't out of the cards.

Although the upgrades in the F Sport package aren't dramatic by any measure, it's positive to see Lexus turn its attention to performance oriented products. Hopefully, a full Lexus F performance revamp will be announced soon. Stay tuned at iMotor and the Toyota newsroom to learn more.
