Earlier a report from The Outhouse said Nickelodeon will apparently pull the last five episodes of season three of "The Legend of Korra" after the new episodes air this week. Nick & More reports that that due to the shows low ratings for "Book Three: Change" the network is pulling the final episodes from the schedule with no time table on when they'll be released.
The move should come as no surprise to viewers as last year "Book Two: Spirits" was plagued with various problems including low ratings, time swaps and more. "Book Three: Change" returned to Nickelodeon this year in less time between Book Two and Book One but has still remained in the deadly Friday night time slot.
There is a bright side, however, while the show has been removed from the schedule it has not been canceled. Co-creator Bryan Konietzko posted a picture to his Tumblr page regarding the news. The photo was of Korra out in the snow with the caption, "Korra not canceled. Moving to digital. We'll talk at SDCC. Thanks for caring." Check it out below:
This does confirm The Outhouse's and Nick & More's report that the show is being pulled but the real question is digital how? Will Nickelodeon air the episodes the same way they did for the end of Book Two? Or will the series end up on a streaming service such as Hulu or Netflix? Lucky for us SDCC '14 (San Diego Comic-Con) is starting tomorrow and we'll hear more from the Korra panel Friday July 25.
