The series became highly successful, following the erupting conflict between Conrad and her friend Heidi Montag and Montag's boyfriend Spencer Pratt. Since leaving "The Hills," Conrad launched the fashion line "LC Lauren Conrad" and released the book trilogy "L.A. Candy," which became a New York Times bestseller.
