Laura Bozzo can’t seem to catch a break! After a very public feud with Carmen Aristegui, after the latter called Bozzo out on her radio show for using the state’s resources for her benefit in the midst of the rescue efforts to the victims of Tropical Storm Manuel in Mexico, the Peruvian TV host engaged in a series of public appearances to deny the allegations and, in a very public way, defy Aristegui to a face to face. After Aristegui denied, Bozzo asked for a rebuttal, and continues on her loud efforts to confront the respected journalist.
The audience has been enjoying the public feud and has had fun attacking Laura as she is seen as a disgrace to Mexico for the humiliation her panelists go through on a day-to-day basis. Many public figures have expressed their thoughts on Televisa’s lead presenter and even songs mocking her have become viral. Just two weeks ago, Carlos Chavira released his hit “Vieja Mentirosa” (Lying Woman) where he calls the talk show host a “liar” and a “terrorist.” But now, the latest sensation is “No Queremos Devolucion,” or “We Don’t Want Her Back,” by Peruvian cumbia performer Abelardo Gutiérrez Alanya, a.k.a. Tongo.
This song has become a hit in social media and Peru, where Tongo has been invited to many TV shows to perform his anthem against Bozzo. The lyrics of the song say something like this: “Laura, Laura, Laura, don’t come back to Peru … No, no, no, we don’t want her back.” Tongo also sings “You went to the land of the charros, you changed ceviche for tacos. You went looking for money and you ended up broke. Don’t come back!”
