We are only a little more than a month from "The Last: Naruto the Movie" release date on Dec. 6, 2014. Finally, a new trailer for "The Last" will run in Japanese theaters this weekend and a second trailer made for TV will run in Japan. Crunchyroll shared the latest 14-second "The Last: Naruto the Movie" teaser trailer yesterday.
As we mentioned earlier this week, "The Last: Naruto the Movie" introduces an all-new character named Toneri Otsutsuki. According to the preview on Weekly Shonen Jump, Otsutsuki is a man of the Otsutsuki lineage and is a direct descendant of the Sage of Six Paths and Princess Kaguya Otsutsuki, the first person to consume the fruit from the Shinju tree of chakra. In "The Last: Naruto the Movie," Toneri Otsutsuki threatens humanity with his unique ability to control the moon.
"The moon has begun moving closer to Earth! As it is, the moon will crumble and meteorites will rain down on Earth's surface," wrote Shonen Jump. "As the last days of Earth approach, Hanabi Hyūga is abducted by a mysterious man in Konoha, and Naruto, Sakura, Sai, Shikamaru, and Hinata set off on a rescue mission! Can Naruto and the others overcome this crisis?"
Toneri Otsutsuki is played by voice actor Jun Fukuyama ("Metal Gear Solid 4," "SD Gundam G Generation Spirits"). Also be sure to look out for Gaara, Choji, Ten Ten, Rock Lee, Temari, Kakashi and more are confirmed in the upcoming "The Last: Naruto the Movie." Speaking of Kakashi, the latest teaser trailer reveals Kakashi donning the Hokage hat.
