Televisa is producing a new telenovela called "Las Amazonas." This new drama series has four strong ladies whom many women will identify themselves with.
Victoria Ruffo, Danna Garcia, Grettel Valdez and Mariluz Bermudez star in this soap produced by Salvador Mejía. The producer has big hits to his name that include "La Madrastra," "La Usurpadora" and "Abrázame Muy Fuerte."
Mejía's production loves empowering women and these are the characters the actresses play:
1. Ruffo gives life to Inés Huerta. She is a mature, beautiful and a simple woman. She is Emiliano’s mother, whom she adores. She loves and protects Victoriano’s daughters because she has raised them as if they were her own, regardless of the love she has always felt for him.
Inés is the only person who has the power to confront Victoriano because she is the only one who knows the secrets that torment him. This is why she always tries to persuade him to reveal the truth about his past to his daughters. She is old-fashioned but has a modern mentality. She is intelligent and will learn how to make up for her mistakes in order to reach happiness.
2. Garcia personifies Diana Santos. Despite not being Victoriano’s biological daughter, she is his first-born and has the same strong and determined personality as him. She studied to run the family business. Diana is rival of Déborah, her stepmother, because she knows she is a climber.
She falls in love with Alejandro San Román, for whom she ends her engagement with Elías Villarroel. A secret that relates Diana to the Mendozas surrounds her, they are Victoriano’s enemies. Her big love for Alejandro will confront her with her father, whom she will almost lose.
3. Valdez is Casandra Santos. She is beautiful and smart, and just as strong and determined as her older sister. She is an independent woman who is trying to get ahead in life on her own without anybody’s help. She starts working as an architect in Eduardo Mendoza’s office, her father’s nemesis.
Casandra and Eduardo inevitably fall in love, which makes her lose Victoriano’s support, but she will defend her relation against Victoriano’s protests and she will confront him to prove she has the last word.
4. Bermudez is Constanza Santos. She is Victoriano’s youngest daughter. She is pretty, rebel, and capricious, but also vulnerable. This vulnerability makes her struggle between her love for Emiliano (her nanny’s son) and the constant persecution of Robby.
She will marry him on a whim and this will lead her to suffer domestic violence. Emiliano, whom she has always loved, will prove to her that his love is unconditional. Constanza, supported by her two sisters, will find an association to help and guide people who have suffered abuse.
