Salsa singer "La India" was released from the hospital Monday after suffering a broken nose and a hematoma with internal bleeding after supposedly being beaten by her boyfriend.
Linda Viera Caballero known by her stage name, La India, was discovered by police in her boyfriend's house and was immediately taken to the emergency room by paramedics following a 911 call. The police suspect the singers boyfriend of attacking her.
"The police visited the scene and concluded that it was an incident of domestic violence," said agent Roberto Alejandro Díaz, according to Univisión.
Viera Caballero's neighbors placed the 911 call after hearing screaming and arguing and became concerned for the 44-year-old singer's safety.
La India performed on March 17 at the 30th annual National Salsa Day at the Hiram Bithoron Stadium in the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan.
