Khloe Kardashian was “just trying to help out with the little things that [she] do know about the environment,” but fans were not having it. Netizens have a field day calling out the hypocrisy of Kardashian’s ecofriendly pomposity.
During her Monday Morning workout, the reality star went on to comment over single-use plastic water bottles but has enraged followers who called her and her family's excessive lifestyle.
The reality star began in her Instagram story that many people are tagging her over her favorite motivational water bottle and that she felt “awesome” to know “people are staying hydrated.”
“There’s something that irks me is that I see people taking water bottles and they’re just pouring it into the gallon size reusable plastic bottle so they can consume their water for the day,” she said. “That defeats the purpose because those water bottles are just going to go into a landfill somewhere and potentially cause, you know, pollution,” she continued.
The 36-year-old media personality went on to say, “We’re trying to limit our single usage of plastics, so I think people should just be aware of that.” She continued, “The point of this is, yes, to stay hydrated, but also to hopefully reduce, you know, all the pollution.”
Kardashian also mentioned that buying inexpensive water filtering tools in Amazon or Bed Bath & Beyond “is a lot smarter than buying cases of waters.”
However, this “irked” followers saying, “Khloe is really out here trying to shame her followers for using single-use water bottles when every party they throw looks like this. This girl is too much!”
One Twitter user commented, “I’m sorry Khloe. What were you saying about single-use plastic‘s irking you?”
Another user tweeted, “Surely you can see why people are frustrated with you talking about water bottles with the scale of plastic/pollution you guys still use. You gotta listen, let’s talk about the parties, private jets, etc... it can’t be small changes to make an impact with that kind of lifestyle.”
However, Kardashian responded to the criticism on her video saying, “Sometimes it’s what I grab. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about learning and hopefully making small changes for our future. Holy smokes. Anyways I love when I get educated on easy tips as to how to potentially make a change in our world. Feel free to tweet me some tips.”
But, at least, there are some fans who are on her side!
