Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry are reportedly rethinking their engagement due to the disparity in their net worth. New rumors suggest that Bloom can't handle Perry's growing stardom, especially since he himself cannot secure a movie role.
“Orlando may be crazy about Katy, but the difference between their earning powers is a recipe for disaster, and everybody can see it,” a supposed source told Star. “Orlando wants to grow his career, but Katy’s the one whose star just keeps rising,” the source went on.
According to Forbes, Perry's net worth as of 2018 is $83 million. Her paycheck for “American Idol” alone is $25 million, as per The Wall Street Journal. Bloom, on the other hand, has a net worth of $35 million. The noticeable gap was alleged to be a deal breaker for the “Fireworks” singer.
However, Gossip Cop was quick to dismiss the report, reaching out to a source close to the situation, who confirmed that the story is fabricated. The same source added that fame and money were never even something that Bloom and Perry thought about. Besides, the website added that fame and fortune cannot be an issue for them all of a sudden because there was nothing to suggest that this was ever a problem between them in the past.
In addition, Bloom has actually been very busy despite the magazine's claim that he has been struggling to land a job. While it's true that he hasn't graced the movie and TV screens lately, this is about to change in a big way this year.
His last movie appearance is back in 2017 with “S.M.A.R.T. Chase,” but he has a couple of films and a TV series coming up. The “Pirates Of The Caribbean” star has been working on several projects.
He is the lead star in the upcoming war movie “The Outpost,” which will be released later this year. Bloom will also appear in a time-travel film called “Needle In A Timestack,” directed by John Ridley. The actor will also headline the neo-noir fantasy and horror series titled “Carnival Row.”
Bloom, however, did admit that his career has fizzled in recent years, saying that because of the major success in his career in his 20s, including his role as Legolas in “The Lord Of The Rings” trilogy, it can be difficult to go up from there. Either way, it doesn't look like this has been a problem with Perry, let alone the downfall of their engagement.
