Kate Middleton was thrown into the spotlight as a member of the royal family when she married Prince William in 2011. But, before she met her future husband and became the Duchess of Cambridge, she’s just like any other student trying to enjoy what university life had to offer including parties.
In fact, a royal family expert claims that she made quite an impression among her peers during university Freshers Week. In her book “Kate: The Future Queen,” author Katie Nicholl wrote that the Duchess had a “hectic week of partying, meeting her 'university parents' -- older pupils who were in charge of looking after freshers -- finding her way around town and settling into her residence hall,” according to The Sun.
While she isn’t as outgoing as other girls, it did not hide her beauty -- especially from the boys – that she later was nicknamed “Beautiful Kate” by the end of the Freshers Week. She was especially striking with her tanned skin thanks to her family vacation in Barbados and her ensemble that consisted of “comfortable H&M jeans, fitted sweaters, and signature cowboy boots."
Young Kate really enjoyed parties and clubbing in those days that she even founded an all-girls drinking society when she was still studying at St. Andrews, according to ES Insider. She also frequented London’s popular spots such as Boujis, Mahiki, Cuckoo, Raffles, Kitts, Mamilanji, and Public
To be fair, it’s not only Kate who enjoyed parties and drinking in her younger days. While Prince Harry has been known for partying hard when he was single, Prince William was not totally averse to enjoying a night out with friends as well.
“On another occasion, I remember William coming back and falling into a bush,” revealed Kate and William’s former classmate, Helen McCardle. “He had to be retrieved from his bodyguards who, rumour has it, went round the hall to retrieve the camera film from people who had been taking photos.”
But, since marrying William and giving birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Kate has long since weaned herself of her partying ways and has transformed herself into one of the prim and proper royals befitting her role as the future queen. These days, she is one of the most popular members of the family along with her in-laws, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
