Kate Middleton had to accept one thing about Prince William when she decided to get back with him after their first split in 2007. It shocked Kate that Prince William had asked him for that one thing, but she understood that it was part of the deal if she wanted him to marry her.

Prince William and Kate are now living their best lives with their three adorable children. It’s no secret, however, that before they tied the knot in 2011, the royal couple had to overcome a lot of obstacles in their relationship. In 2007, they faced the biggest challenge in their relationship when Prince William broke up with Kate at a time when Kate was already expecting her longtime boyfriend to propose to her.

According to sources, Kate was already expecting Prince William to pop the question to her at that time, so it surprised her that he suddenly asked for them to separate. As it turned out, Prince William was not as ready as Kate to make such a major commitment as marriage.

A few months after they parted ways, Prince William realized that he really loved Kate and that he should get back together with her. Before they finally patched things up, however, he asked Kate to accept one thing about him — he wanted a lot more freedom in their relationship, especially when it comes to looking at other women.

Prince William’s request reportedly took Kate Middleton by surprise. However, because she loved Prince William, she accepted it.

“He has always had a roving eye, far more so than Harry, who is meant to be the family playboy,” said a royal insider. “That’s something Kate has always known and accepted — it was part of the deal, if you like,” the insider added.

The insider also revealed that when Prince William was still in the military, he would often spend a lot of time with his friends in the barracks, drinking and dancing. Once, he even made a trip to London and was caught flirting with a mystery girl at a local pub.

It remains unknown if Prince William is still looking at other women now that he’s already married to Kate. Despite their rocky times in the past, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have managed to put up a strong front for the public. And for royal fans, that’s more than enough.
