Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, finally, made legal moves to fight against inaccurate reports made by British tabloids. While Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton doesn’t want to see her in-laws miserable, she wants to keep herself out of the unfolding drama.
“While Kate’s concerned about Harry and Meghan’s well-being, she tries to stay out of the drama,” a source told Us Weekly.
Recently, Meghan Markle sued Mail on Sunday for publishing the handwritten letter she sent to her father Thomas Markle, Sr., The Guardian reported. The Duchess’ decision to take legal action is fully supported by Prince Harry, who can no longer stand the “bullying” aimed at his wife.
“Put simply, it is bullying, which scares and silences people,” Prince Harry said in a statement. “We all know this isn’t acceptable, at any level. We won’t and can’t believe in a world where there is no accountability for this.”
Prince Harry also explained that he can’t stand idly by as the same forces that destroyed his mother might end up destroying his wife, Meghan. To recall, Prince Diana died in 1997 when the car she rode in crashed while trying to avoid the paparazzi that hounded her.
“I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person,” Prince Harry continued. “I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
In a recently aired ITV documentary titled “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” Prince Harry also hinted that there might be some friction between him and his brother William. But the Duke of Sussex is confident that they’ll eventually patch up whatever differences there might be between them. After all, conflicts are normal even among brothers.
“Part of this role and part of this job, this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably stuff happens,” Prince Harry explained. “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I’ll always be there for him and as I know he’ll always be there for me.”
According to Us Weekly’s source, Kate is likewise hopeful that the brothers will soon reconcile. “The way she sees it, life’s too short to make enemies – especially with loved ones,” the tipster said. “She’s very levelheaded like that. Kate’s a family girl.”
