Tattoo artist Kat Von D and fiancé Deadmau5 have called it quits, and it looks like this time is for real.
The former LA Ink star took it to Twitter and posted: "Man, I'm a fool. Cheating on your loved one is the most hurtful thing one could do. I hate to have to admit, that this relationship is indeed over."
The revelation came as a surprise to fans of the on-and-off couple, who began dating in September, 2012.
This isn't the first time the couple used Twitter to reveal their relationship problems. Back in November, they let the world know about their first breakup after Von D tweeted: "Man...Can't say I didn't give it my best" and "Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. #lessonlearned."
Deadmau5 chimed in with, "Going to spend a little while screwing my head back on. i guess im not cut out for relationships right now. and that's all i really want to dwell on it right now. ill figure it out. no hard feelings," and so on.
But in December that year they reconciled, and Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, got down on one virtual knee to propose with an image of a diamond ring on the same social media Von D used tell the world they were broken up.
"I can't wait for Christmas so ... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?" the house music producer tweeted.
However, on monday Zimmerman sent a message on the same platform that some followers flagged as insensitive: "Well now that I'm finally free ... Let's put out some music!" he wrote. "Lake mead day to celebrate today, then back to work on Friday."
His rep later clarified that the producer was talking about parting ways with his record label, Ultra Music, and not about his relationship.
Von D chose not to address her ex-fiancé directly, but still tweeted: "Onwards and upwards," posting a photo of a heart inked on her palm. "Go out into the world with Love."
After the cheating allegations, Zimmerman released a statement on his Facebook saying: "Kat and I split in November and I moved back home to Toronto. During this time, while we were broken up, I did have relations with another woman. Following that, Kat and I reconciled and I acknowledged being intimate with another person while we were estranged."
"We did move past those issues and I proposed to Kat in mid- December," he continued. "At the end of June, it was clear that the relationship was not working and we mutually ended the engagement. I was not, at any point, unfaithful to Kat during our time together."
