Dominican-Peruvian rising star Karen Rodriguez premiered her latest single and music video, "No Me Verás Llorar (Spanglish)." Karen’s powerful voice shines through in the upbeat breakup anthem, comforting and empowering women to stay strong in the midst of a tough heartbreak. The accompanying music video features Karen thriving in Miami with her friends.
The video is exclusively for TIDAL Rising but, members and non-members alike will be able to listen to the new track and watch the music video. For the piece, Rodriguez also partnered with AFI (American Family Insurance) to create her own docuseries entitled, “The Process” that takes viewers behind-the-scenes with Karen as she pursues her dreams, from her first music scholarship at age 7, to career setbacks and major triumphs like recording and performing her original music.
Karen reached national attention during season 10 of "American Idol," where she blew audiences away with powerful renditions of "Hero" by Mariah Carey, "If You Had My Love" by Jennifer Lopez, "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, and "No Me Queda Más" by Selena. Karen became the first bilingual finalist on the show. She subsequently caught the eye of one of the most important global Latin artists, Marc Anthony, which led her to meet the King of Bachata, Romeo Santos.
Karen also wrote the Spanish translation of "Somebody" by Natalie La Rose featuring Jencarlos Canela and Kevin Roldan, which was performed at the 2015 Latin American Music Awards.
Karen then co-wrote three compositions with Romeo Santos for his Formula Vol. 2 album: "Odio" featuring Drake, "Trust" featuring Tego Calderón, and "Gone Forever."
The Roc Nation Latin singer is also bilingual, and can do both English and Spanish songs. Her new single "No Me Verás Llorar" came out in both versions English and Spanish, and her video is available too!
