José Alberto Castro is in hot rumors after a tabloid magazine published an article that accuses him of fraud. The gist of the piece alleges that Televisa audited him and it turned out that "La Malquerida" producer had been in fraudulent movements. On top of that there were accusations of addiction that painted Veronica Castro's brother in negative light. It was also reported that the producer had been fired from the production house, but the network has not made any official announcements. The series starring Victoria Ruffo and Ariadne Díaz is still in production and airing in México.
Following the report, Sofía Castro, lashed out on Twitter to defend her father. "I want to tell all those "real" sources, that what they are saying about my father is a lie," she wrote. "I consider this an absolute lack of ethic and respect as they don't think that this affects third parties. I can only say that my father is more handsome and hardworking than ever. I shouldn't be doing this but as a daughter it affects me. I wished they put the names of the 'very good sources' and stop defaming, not only my father, but everyone that appears in that magazine every Tuesday."
If the news turns out to be truth and Televisa cut ties with him, it would not be a great year for him. Earlier this year he broke up with "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" star Angelique Boyer after a relationship of three years. The 25-year-old "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" actress and 53-year-old producer released a joint statement following their split that they posted on Twitter. "Through this medium we want to inform you that after a marvelous relationship full of love, it has become our decision to end it," said the letter. "In this moment in our lives we need to confront responsibilities that don't allow us to maintain, how it should be, our love. We ask for your understanding and respect so that no speculation arises. We will not make any other statement."
