A 10-game slate means there were a bunch of ridiculous performances from some of the game’s biggest stars. Many of the games came down to a final shot or possession.
Here are the top performances from last night:
1. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets (43 Pts, 14 Reb, 8 Ast, 5 Stl, 1 Blk)
Nikola Jokic is the back-to-back MVP for a reason. He’s an absolute force and can do just about anything on the court. His near 43-point triple-double is one of the best games anyone has had this season, especially when you consider he shot 17-of-20 from the field.
2. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors (37 Pts, 7 Reb, 7 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 Blk)
Stephen Curry has been putting up big numbers all season and last night was no different. However, it wasn’t enough as the Warriors fell short and Curry exited early with a shoulder injury.
3. Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings (21 Pts, 20 Reb, 7 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk)
Domantas Sabonis is a big reason for the Kings’ success this season. The Kings run a lot of their offense through the big man and he’s one of the best passers at his position. Add in the fact that he’s a monster rebounder and you get games like last night’s.
4. Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors (39 Pts, 8 Reb, 5 Ast, 4 Stl, 1 Blk)
Fred VanVleet has struggled this season and it’s part of the reason why the Raptors have struggled as well. It seems like he may have broken out in a big way against the Kings. His 39-point game wasn’t enough to overcome the Kings though, as they lost 124-123.
5. Julius Randle, New York Knicks (31 Pts, 13 Reb, 7 Ast)
Julius Randle is having a turnaround season. He’s been effective and is leading the Knicks who are currently on a 5-game winning streak. His jumper is falling and he’s making better decisions for a team that needs it. He was big in their overtime win over the Bulls.
Honorable Mentions:
Damian Lillard, Portland Trailblazers (37 Pts, 5 Reb, 8 Ast, 2 Stl)
De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings (27 Pts, 10 Ast, 6 Reb, 1 Stl)
Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors (27 Pts, 7 Reb, 10 Ast, 1 Blk)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (27 Pts, 8 Reb, 7 Ast, 1 Stl)
Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks (30 Pts, 5 Reb, 6 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk)
