Joel McHale does not mind if people think he's gay. In fact, he quite enjoys it.
In an interview with "The Advocate," he addressed the comments that he might be in the closet. Those rumors haven't gone away -- but the actor is not offended by them.
"Oh I still see that on Twitter every day. It's flattering," he said.
"I always find it very weird when guys flip out over someone thinking they might be gay," he added. "If a guy gets offended by that, there's something wrong with him. I take it as a compliment."
McHale has been married for almost two decades to wife Sarah Williams, and they have two sons.
The actor said that when he was starting in the business he used to get hit on by men all the time. "Guys sometimes will tweet me, 'I'm in L.A. staying at such-and-such hotel. What do you think? And of course, it all depends on the quality of the hotel," he joked.
"Community," the quirky show in which McHale stars, have struggled with ratings in the past couple of seasons. For that, McHale said he's especially grateful to the show's many gay viewers. "Thank God for our gay fans. They are the loudest and most Internet-savvy."
