Joan Rivers Rushed To New York Hospital After Complications During Throat Procedure

Iconic comedian and actress Joan Rivers, 81, was rushed to a New York hospital after she stopped breathing. Reportedly Rivers was having a routine throat procedure at a clinic in the city when she just stopped breathing. TMZ reports that she was reportedly rushed to Mount Sinai. The latest news from TMZ states that the NYPD says Rivers is currently in critical condition.

According to Gossip Cop a 911 call was made at 9:39 a.m. this morning presumably from a staff member at the clinic Rivers was at. Reportedly the staff member said, “We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest.” Apparently Rivers daughter, Melissa Rivers, is currently on her way to New York City right now.

Rivers has been busy promoting her latest book, "Diary of a Mad Diva." She recently told USA TODAY "Life is tough. Life is tough. I just think, 'Make them laugh.'" Rivers publicist has yet to reveal her condition or announce any news regarding her health.
