Jennifer Lopez will shine at Premios Billboard 2015 in a tribute to the late Selena Quintanilla. The announcement of the special performance was made today, April 16, on what would've been Selena's 44th birthday. On the death anniversary of the "Amor Prohibido" singer, Lopez talked to Billboard magazine about the Tex-Mex singer. "People like that don't come along every day," she said. "There is never going to be another Selena. The grace with which she handled the business, the grace with which she handled her life, the humor. Her spirit of loving what she did. Her sense of family. That's the tragedy of everything that happened and why she left such an imprint -- because she was gone way too soon.” We can't wait to see what songs Lopez is going to include in the medley which will surely be the highlight of the night. The Billboard Latin Music Awards will air live on April 30 at 8pm ET/PT on Telemundo.
The Latin diva was recently rumored to take on the task of giving life to Jenni Rivera on the big screen, but she debunked those rumors. "I don't know much about her life, only as a singer,"she said. "I knew some of her songs, but I don't know. There have been many rumors about it, but it's not something that I am putting out there." She also added, "our lives were similar due to the type of job. When I found out about the accident it was like a nightmare. She was so young and had five children. It wasn't her moment to leave." It's clear now that Jennifer was not the one that push those rumors out there and it probably was just a hopeful fan that would like to see her in "La Diva de las Banda's" shoes.
Our beloved "Jenny From The Block" is one busy woman. This past weekend she was honored at the MTV Movie Awards for her role on "The Boy Next Door." Lopez received the golden popcorn trophy in the Best Scared-As-S**T Performance category beating out contenders like Rosamund Pike, Annabelle Wallis, Dylan O'Brien and Zach Gilford. Her award was handed out by the men of "Magic Mike" and when she took the stage, she asked the men to stay close by and give her a dance. Channing Tatum got down and shook his booty, twerking for her and everyone on live television. During the opening of the show, host Amy Schumer made a joke, that not many found that hilarious. The comedian said the way the lead character of "Gone Girl" reacted, was the same way that all Latinas react when they are cheated on. The camera caught Jennifer Lopez's reaction and it looked something like THIS.
