Jenny from the block is officially back! Actress, singer and all around entertainer, Jennifer Lopez is returning to TV.
According to FOX News Latino, the 47-year-old diva, who was an impressive judge on "American Idol," will perform the same role on her very own new “World Of Dance” competition series.
“I identify with the struggles, passion, discipline, competition and exhilaration of dance," Lopez stated. "I am excited that with this show we can skyrocket a dancer's career and help guide them to success."
The series will have 10 episodes and contestants will show off their moves in all genres of dance such as hip-hop, ballet, contemporary and so much more.
This is a great move for Lopez as her true passion is dance. The Puerto Rican beauty got her start in the entertainment industry as a backup dancer for New Kids On The Block. After her first gig, Lopez garnered attention for her impressive dance moves as a “Fly Girl” on the hit show “In Living Color." She then earned the opportunity of a lifetime with a coveted spot as a dancer for Janet Jackson on her Janet World Tour in 1993, and then, as they say, the rest was history.
Lopez was previously announced as an executive producer for the new show.
"This show centers on the need to celebrate and reward the art and athleticism of the dance community and there is no one more passionate about that then Jennifer," said Meredith Ahr, President of Universal Television Alternative Studio. "Her role at the judges' table takes our joint ambitions to the next level, and we can't wait to get started."
The winner of the show will win a grand prize of $1 million.
