Rumors of the new judging panel for "American Idol" are swirling and our favorite Latina, Jennifer Lopez, might be back on the FOX reality show. A source close to the diva told People that J.Lo is "very close to signing a deal with Fox to return to American Idol next season."

The "Dance Again" hitmaker was previously a judge on the music talent show for seasons 10 and 11 but decided not to renew her contract for a third season at the time due to scheduling conflicts with her world tour.

"She couldn't return last year because she had committed to a world tour. But now that the tour is over, she has more time to raise her family, do movies and pursue television projects," the insider revealed.

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were added to the panel, but aside from drama between the two during the initial rounds of auditions, interest in tuning in to the show fell flat. News of J.Lo's possible return to "Idol" comes after a report from New York Post claimed she approached producers of "The Voice" to be featured on the season 4 finale of the swirling chairs show.

The source clarifies the situation: "Jennifer never had discussions with NBC about being a judge. She was approached by NBC about performing but had to turn it down because of scheduling conflicts."
