Jennifer Lopez is making the rounds with her new music video for "Ain't Your Mama." The empowering clip, which dropped on Friday, May 6, highlights the history of women’s fight for independence throughout the years.
From the 1950s to the 1980s to present time, "Ain't Your Mama" showcases the power of women. Part of the music video includes Hillary Clinton's famous "Human rights are women's rights" speech in the background. Following the video premiere of JLo's first single off of her upcoming studio album, the presidential candidate headed to Twitter to praise JLo's fresh production.
"Thanks for this. Women are so much more than the roles they've been assigned," Clinton wrote to the Puerto Rican actress and singer. Lopez then replied with: "Reminding women to stand in their own power! Thank you @hillaryclinton for leading by example."
"Ain't Your Mama" is the first single that the Puerto Rican star will release through her recently signed deal with Epic Records. After releasing her 2014 album "A.K.A." under Capitol Records, it was revealed that Lopez cut ties with the label and returned to Epic Records.
Billboard confirmed early March that the "On The Floor" singer signed a new long-term contract with the Sony Music-owned label, and also stated that the songstress reunited with L.A. Reid, her longtime mentor and Epic chairman and CEO. "I'm thrilled to welcome Jennifer back home with me to Epic Records," said Reid to Billboard. "Jennifer is a true global icon with a magnetism that sears across music, film, and TV and I'm excited to be working together again," he added of the "Shades of Blue" leading star and"American Idol" judge.
