Irrespective of whether one is a Marvel fan or not, it goes without saying that Marvel movies deserve immense respect and recognition. Everyone knows how important Marvel movies and their characters are to the cinematic universe.

Fans have been touched by these characters and films that they have become deeply and emotionally connected to them. So when someone throws a shade at Marvel or any of the movies in the Marvel universe, fans are obviously going to get super enraged.

Recently, Jennifer Aniston had to bear the brunt of Twitterati for her comment on Marvel movies. Aniston, popularly known for her character as Rachel Green in “Friends,” said something about Marvel that didn’t go down well with its fans and left them furious. In an interview, she opened up about how she’d like to return to TV rather than doing more movies.

“It wasn’t until the last couple of years when these streaming services were just sort of exploding with this amount of quality that I actually started to think, ‘Wow, that’s better than what I just did,’“ said Aniston. “And then you’re seeing what’s available out there and it’s just diminishing and diminishing in terms of, it’s big Marvel movies. Or things that I’m not just asked to do or really that interested in living in a green screen,” added the actress, pissing off many fans all across the world.

Taking a dig at Aniston’s statement, Twitter users collectively bashed the actress and her choice of films, hereby taking away the right from her to criticize Marvel films. Here’s taking a look at what some of the users said on the micro-blogging site:

Aniston’s statements came days after legendary director Martin Scorsese made a similarly startling statement about Marvel movies. According to him, Marvel movies are not cinema and compared the billion-dollar juggernaut to a theme park.

“I don’t see them,” said Scorsese. “I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema,” the “Taxi Driver” director told Empire magazine.

In her interview with Variety, Aniston also expressed her shock over how TV has almost become extinct. “I’m shocked this is where we are, but excited that this is where we are,” said the actress.

“I didn’t see it coming. I remember not understanding. What the hell does streaming mean? They’re like, it’s there all the time,” she added.
