Millions of fans still mourn the loss of Jenni Rivera. “La Diva de la Banda” died on December 9,2012, when the small plane she was traveling in crashed in the mountains of Northern México.

Rivera was known to be a musical powerhouse because of her Spanish-language performances of regional Mexican corridos, and ballads. She was a singer in a genre of music that’s largely dominated by males, she brought a powerful voice to that genre in which she sung about her struggles to give her children a better life in this country.

In 2003, Rivera paid tribute to Selena Quintanilla, “La Reina del TexMex,” with her album “Farewell to Selena.” Selena’s legacy was honored recently on the 20th Anniversary of her death with “Fiesta de la Flor,” a music festival that happens every year in the singer’s hometown Corpus Christy, TX.

Following the Quintanilla’s steps, Rivera’s family organized “Jenni Vive,” an event that is planned to happen every year on July 2, in different cities of México and the United States. This year however, the event will only occur in Long Beach, California. Ten thousand people are expected to show up at "Playa Larga," where the singer grew up, and where guest stars will be entertaining the audience.

The names of the celebrities that will be performing have not yet been revealed. “Jenni Vive 2015” will donate a portion of their proceeds to charity through the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation.
